On May 6, 2023, in a countrywide affair, he will be ceremoniously crowned as the king of the throne. During the ceremony, delegates from all over the world, including the Commonwealth nations, will attend the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. After the ceremony, artists like Katy Perry will perform a concert on May 7, 2023.
Earlier, many artists declined to perform at the ceremony for various reasons, but the palace has confirmed the artists who will perform at the ceremony. The list includes Lionel Richie, Andrea Bocelli, an Italian opera singer, and Sir Bryn Terfel, among others. But Katy Perry will perform at the concert for the UNICEF cause after spending a royal night at Windsor Castle.

Katy Perry Will Stay Overnight At The Windsor Castle
It is a few weeks away when we will witness one of the biggest events of the year, when King Charles III will be ceremoniously crowned as king. The event is planned on a grand scale and will be followed by a concert starring many great performers. But one of the high-profile performers during the event will be Katy Perry. The pop star is close to the family. She was featured in a video for a mental health campaign with Prince William and Prince Harry.
Recently, when asked about the opportunity to perform at King Charles III’s coronation, she said, “I’m grateful I get to go. I met His Majesty to be a few years ago and he named me as one of the ambassadors to his organization, The British Asian Trust, which is an organization that helps fight to end child trafficking.”
The ‘Roar’ singer added, “So I’m also an ambassador for UNICEF, and it really aligned with my values. That’s mostly why I’m going, to be an ambassador and to say, ‘Hey, this is me from the USA.’ No, but it’s so cool.” As per reports, Katy Perry will have an added benefit to performing at the ceremony as she will also taste royalty for a night before the May 7 performance.

Adele And Ed Sheeran Refused To Perform At The Ceremony
Earlier, many artists were approached to perform at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III. However, several artists turned down the opportunity to perform at the ceremony, including Adele and Ed Sheeran. As per the Ok! Magazine insider, “The King has suggested people he would like to perform and Adele and Ed were on that list. He was very keen that they were part of the concert.”
The insider continued, “There is a team set up to get the talent signed up so they approached the two of them, but got replies saying that they were unavailable, which was a massive disappointment. They are titans of the showbiz industry and are quintessentially British but also known across the globe. It’s such a shame.”
Both Adele and Ed Sheeran are busy with their respective concerts. The British songstress is enchanting Las Vegas with her ‘Weekends with Adele’ residency in the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. As for Ed Sheeran, he will be starting his ‘Mathematics Tour’ to promote his latest album, ‘=.’ On coronation day, he will start the tour in Arlington, Texas.
