Why Did Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Skip The Met Gala?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been creating headlines ever since they left the UK and shifted to California. The two have since been on a tell-all spree, giving multiple interviews, and releasing a Netflix documentary series and a highly publicized and best-selling memoir.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been gearing up for King Charles’ coronation ceremony which is slated to take place on May 6 in London. Meghan, who is staying in the US that day, is also preparing for her son Archie’s birthday which is on the same date.

These two events might have prevented the royal couple from attending this year’s Met Gala. Apart from that, the recent rift between them and the British Royal family might be another reason they chose to skip a high-profile and glamorous event.

The couple has been trying to maintain a low profile lately and it is still not clear whether they were invited for this year’s Met Gala or not. Since their marriage, Harry and Meghan are yet to make their red carpet debut at the fashion event.

Recently, the Liturgy of the Coronation Service revealed the role of Prince William at the coronation ceremony. On the day, the Archbishop of Canterbury will pledge his allegiance to the new king Charles III.

After that, the Prince of Wales will kneel before Charles, placing his hands between the King and reciting the Homage of Royal Blood. Both Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties in 2020 and Prince Philip has been ousted from royal titles.

So William will be the only family member who will be there in a speaking capacity. Harry’s name wasn’t mentioned in the Liturgy which means he will be there just like a regular audience.
