There is a saying that faith can move mountains. It is used to denote that when everything fails, including determination, hope, and belief, faith works. That is exactly what keeps you going in the face of adversity.
Well, a scientific experiment seems to cement this saying that we can do and achieve anything in life if we have faith in ourselves.

An Experiment Shows The Power Of Faith
Last year, the YouTube channel Team Fearless uploaded a four-minute 34 seconds video titled ‘Shocking Rat Experiment Teaches Powerful Life Lesson.’ The motivational video talks about an experiment conducted on rats that tells us a lot about faith.
During a brutal study at Harvard in the 1950s, Dr. Curt Richard placed both domesticated and wild rats in a pool of water to test how long they survive. They wanted to observe how they would swim around before eventually giving up. The result showed that there was a significant difference between the wild and domesticated rats.
The domesticated rats could swim around for 40 to 60 hours on average. But the wild rats gave up and sank to their death in just 15 minutes. Their breeds were the same but the only difference was that one group was domesticated and one wild.
The doctors came to the conclusion that the wild rats gave up mentally, hence the death was psychological and not physical. They then did the experiment again with the wild rats but this time the doctors would pick them up. They would dry them for a few minutes and let them rest. Doctors then put them back into water and the results were different this time.
Experiment Gives Out A Strong Message
The wild rats, who were about to die, behaved differently this time. On average, the rats lasted for 40-60 hours, the same as the domesticated rats. From dying within 15 minutes to lasting for so long, something had changed in the rat’s brains.
The experiment concluded that since the rats believed that they will be rescued eventually, they pushed harder. They pushed their body past what they previously thought of as impossible. Unlike last time, the rats had hope the second time. So they tried harder and kept going.
