Harrison Butker Labeled As ‘Sexist’ After His Speech
The NFL kicker’s speech included statements that were sexist, and misogynistic and were against women working for their careers as he encouraged them to become dutiful mothers and wives instead.
“I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolical lies told to you, how many of you are sitting here now about to cross the stage, and are thinking about all the promotions and titles you’re going to get in your career. Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world. But I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world” he said, before adding that his own wife “would be the first to say that her life truly started when she began living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”
He then mentioned Taylor Swift through one of her lyrics, mentioning her as “my teammate’s girlfriend” and using her lyric “familiarity breeds contempt” to talk about priests and adulations.
Elsewhere in the speech he also said things like “abortion, IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia as well as a growing support for degenerate cultural values and media” come from “the pervasiveness of disorder.”
