Ever since Elon Musk took over Twitter, it is safe to say that it has been in absolute chaos. Soon after the $44 million purchase, Musk abruptly fired almost half of its original workforce. Following this mass firing, a mass resignation was also seen in response to Musk’s comment on having a “hardcore” work environment to meet deadlines.
While this is going on, attention was brought to a tweet of Elon by a Canadian YouTuber. Lauren Chen reacted to a picture on the platform tweeted by Elon Musk himself. The picture showed the working staff of the office, before and after Musk’s takeover.

Twitter Before And After Elon Musk
Lauren Chen shared the photo of Twitter’s workforce with two pictures captioning it as ‘Twitter before Elon vs Twitter after Elon.” As she shared these, fans were quick to notice an absence of women in the “Twitter after Elon Musk” photo. As could be seen in the post, the “Twitter before Elon” contained a lot more women than the latter.
This left netizens wondering about where the women were. Some users totally sided with Chen saying how things have changed for the worse in the company. Whereas some others took a different approach, asking if women didn’t want to work hard and if it is only men who do.

Where Did The Tweet Come From?
Before Lauren Chen shared the two comparison pictures, the second photo of “Twitter after Elon” was shared by Musk himself a few days ago. This was done shortly after a Twitter code meeting review. After Elon Musk took over the company with a $44 million purchase, he fired almost half of its workforce.
In the post where Elon shared this picture, a user commented, “I thought that this does not exist anymore. Really…no#woman there.” As Wion News mentions, the first picture, the first picture depicts a healthy, equal workforce of the platform. While the second one depicts inequality with only a few women in comparison to men.
