Perfect ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Couples
While there have been some disastrous and cringy couples on ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘, let’s focus on the ones that made all of us super happy. ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ fans have been hoping and praying for these pairs to get together and when they did, major sparks flew.
5. Alex Karev And Izzie Stevens
Alex and Izzie started as frenemies and romance truly bloomed between them after Denny’s death and during Izzie’s life-threatening brain tumor days. Izzie’s influence on Alex has been incredible – not only did she push him to be a better person but also brought out the good in him. Alex and Izzie also got married on the show in the early seasons. However, one thing that did not sit well with fans was how Alex broke up with Jo over just a letter when she deserved much more. But Alex and Izzie deserved the endgame that they got and we are happy for their little happy family of four.
4. Arizona Robbins And Callie Torres
These two were undoubtedly cute. Callie and Arizona are also one of the most important LGBTQ+ couples on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. They have shown us how to stand by each other in the darkest of times. It was upsetting when the pair divorced later on and Arizona moved to New York. But Callie and Arizona have been through a lot together as a couple and faced a lot of hardships. They even grew as individuals through the love and support of each other. It is safe to say that our queens are absolute couple goals.
3. Lexie Grey And Mark Sloan
This couple was one of the most iconic couples on the show. And it hurt so badly that they could not get the ending they deserved. Despite the age gap, Lexie and Mark were soulmates. And Lexie truly changed Mark from the ladies’ man that he was. Mark truly loved Lexie but neither confessed their feelings until it was too late. But Mark never left Lexie’s side during the plane crash and the scene of them holding hands and saying goodbye truly broke many hearts.
2. Bailey And Ben
Bailey and Ben shared one of the most healthiest and wholesome relationships on the show. They stayed together from the very beginning till the very end, supported each other like pillars and helped each other grow. This is probably the only pair that remained constant since day one of their relationship. Bailey and Ben deserved nothing less than what their story told.
1. Meredith Grey And Derek Shepherd
You knew this was coming! And indeed the most epic love story of ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ is undoubtedly Derek and Meredith’s. They are soulmates in the true sense of the word. There is no doubt that their relationship started on rocky grounds but it just kept getting better and better. And Derek Shepherd’s death was never the end of the story since Meredith never got over Derek completely. They are and will always remain the best couple on the show and continue to give us couple goals.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Couples That Don’t Make Any Sense
Let’s start with the ones that have made you cringe a bit and maybe nauseous sometimes. The show would not have missed much without these couples for sure. These pairs would have been better off as friends instead of lovers.
5. George O’Malley and Izzie Stevens
One of the biggest examples of why sometimes writers should not always try to make a man and woman come into a relationship. George O’Malley and Izzie’s friendship was genuine, sweet and true. And messing that up by pairing the two was a bad decision. Another very upsetting part was that George cheated on Callie with Izzie. The storyline did get very messed up in that part and fans did not like it one bit.
4. George O’Malley and Callie Torres
The writers of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ keep pairing George O’Malley with the wrong ladies throughout the show. This relationship started as a cute flirtation but soon became toxic and unbearable. Both of them cheated on each other with other people and the lack of chemistry was just evident. Their marriage was hasty and not at all required not to mention George impulsively decided to marry Callie while grieving his father. Everything was wrong in this relationship and the fans couldn’t wait for the couple to break up.

3. Alex Karev and Ava Or Rebecca Pope
Doctor-patient relationships are always disastrous and this one in particular was the dumbest. Alex saved Ava or Rebecca from an accident and they started bonding when she was receiving treatment. But things got complicated soon and everything was off about this relationship from the very beginning. Even though this was a turning point for Alex’s character who gave everything to help Ava and was very much in love with her, this relationship was better off not happening.
2. George O’Malley And Meredith Grey
Another disastrous relationship that asked the question of what the writers were even thinking. Although it was a one-night stand, George had a crush on Meredith for a long time. And fans are angry at how the situation unfolded. Meredith was in a very vulnerable situation when George tried to express his feelings. Not only did this make their friendship awkward but potentially left a big scar on the fans as well.
1. Cristina Yang and Owen Hunt
These two were a major couple throughout most seasons of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’. And fans have divided opinions on this couple. But honestly, Christina Yang deserved better. This relationship soon started to show a lot of red flags even at the early stages. They shared different lookouts on life and often quarreled with each other. Christina and Owen would have been great friends but them as a couple does not sit well.
