Dexter Morgan is returning to the darkness. Following the horrendous events of the first season, ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ is officially back for Season 2 on October 30, 2026, right in time for Halloween. The first teaser has been released for Paramount+, and it offers fans their first look at what’s in store for Michael C. Hall’s iconic serial killer in New York.
Dexter’s Dark Passenger Isn’t Going Anywhere
The new teaser is brief, but it does suggest that Dexter is in a whole new stage of his life. He is seen getting his eyes tested, a surprisingly ordinary moment for someone who has spent two decades hunting murderers. But for Dexter, even a simple eye exam seems like it might have something behind it.

The biggest question for Season 2 is what Dexter will do after the epic finale of Season 1. Dexter has always operated with his own definition of justice, pursuing killers who evade the law, according to Harry’s Code. However, Season 1 forced him into a new realm. He finally had to face the repercussions that could alter the way he lives his life.
His connection with his son Harrison will also be very important. The two are now attempting to make their way through their complex lives in New York, after all they’ve endured. But for Dexter, it’s never been easy to start over. His Dark Passenger never seems to go away. And this time there are a lot of bad guys waiting for him.
New Killers Bring New Trouble In ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Season 2
There are a number of big changes in the cast for Season 2, which will expand Dexter’s world. New to the season will be series regulars Dan Stevens and Brian Cox, as well as Nona Parker Johnson and Bokeem Woodbine. Krysten Ritter will also be back, along with Gabriel Luna.

Cox and Stevens are particularly interesting because both are set to play new serial killers, meaning Dexter won’t have to look far for another target.
