Emma D’Arcy has been a fantastic addition to the ‘Game of Thrones‘ universe through its spin-off ‘House Of The Dragon.’ The actress has received considerable praise—both from fans and award nominations—for their performance on the show.
As they continue to be one of the biggest stars of the series, here’s what they revealed about a frank evening they spent with Emilia Clarke, along with a special advice the actress gave them.
Emilia Clarke’s Crucial Advice For Emma D’Arcy
Emma D’Arcy is lifting the veil on very important advice she received from Emilia Clarke, who starred in ‘Game Of Thrones’ before ‘House Of the Dragon.’ On Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, D’Arcy talked about their crucial pre-House of the Dragon encounter with Clarke where she was “incredibly frank” with them about her ‘GOT‘ experience.

D’Arcy said, “Her advice was amazing, because it was both sort of broad, sort of embracing wisdom about like the sort of psychic change that one’s about to undergo. But also like practical stuff like, I really remember her saying like ‘your trailer is your space, decorate it, use it.’ You know, just like tiny things. We talked about the practicalities of wearing a wig every day, what it does to your scalp, the issues you’re going to have, it was like really good. The real stuff. I mean, I feel fortunate because I think we experience a fraction of the baptism of fire, without trying to make some sort of Targaryen pun, that Emilia went through, but even so, I suppose it’s like this show has like a, you enter something with a history that proceeds you.”
Although the events of their series take place about 200 years apart, Clarke and D’Arcy both portray members of House Targaryen.
The One Thing Emma D’Arcy Wants To Change About Her Character In ‘House Of The Dragon’ Season 3
Although D’Arcy is pretty satisfied with her character’s portrayal on the show, the actress revealed there is one change she wishes to bring to her role.
Talking about it in the same podcast, Emma said, “The petition I’ve put in is I want a weapon. Like it’s getting ridiculous. I don’t even mind if it’s like a little dagger, a short sword. I don’t really care. All the men in the show don’t have to worry about where they put their hands because they’re constantly holding the pommel of their sword. That obviously sounds like innuendo and you can do with that what you will but that is true. And all the rest of us are going, “Where do we put our f–king hands?”“
If her wish is granted, it would be interesting to see what turn her character Rhaenyra Targaryen takes on the show.
