Fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of season 2 of the ‘House of the Dragon‘, with some interesting plotlines already teased to sweep the ground off their feet. However, there are two names that strike fear into the hearts of the show’s cast: Blood and Cheese. The characters are central to a crucial plot from George R.R. Martin’s ‘Fire & Blood’ and are set to make a notorious debut in season 2.
Speaking about the same during a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, actress Olivia Cooke, who plays Alicent Hightower on the show, and series co-creator Ryan Condal opened up about what fans can expect from the upcoming season set to premiere on HBO and Max this June 16.

‘House Of The Dragon’ Co-Creator Confirms Season 2 To Be “Pretty Horrific”
During the interview, Olivia Cooke straight up warned her fans to expect the worst from the upcoming season of the well-acclaimed show. “God!” Cooke exclaimed. “I’d just say, it is ‘Game of Thrones,’ expect the worst. Expect the very worst possible, and then double it. I dunno what else to say without heavily spoiling it, but it is heinous,” she said.
While there’s ample frenzy around the characters of Blood and Cheese, the casting for these characters has been kept under wraps. Even though the show creators have dropped hints in past trailers, no name has been confirmed.
Teasing the cast of the show, co-creator Ryan Condal said, “A Song of Ice and Fire and ‘Game of Thrones’ have really conditioned people to expect the unexpected and expect the horrible. But, yeah, that one’s pretty horrific. We’ll see what people make of what’s to come.”

“Season 2 Is The March To War”: ‘House Of The Dragon’ Show Makers Warns Fans
‘House of the Dragon‘ is expected to bring forth the chapter of Dance of the Dragons, the brutal civil war within the Targaryen dynasty over succession. Season 1 of the show already saw House Hightower and their allies seize the Iron Throne from Rhaenyra Targaryen played by Emma D’Arcy, and the designated heir of the late King Viserys played by Paddy Considine. They also went ahead and crowned her half-brother Aegon II Targaryen played by Tom Glynn-Carney instead.
The season finale met a tragic climax, where Rhaenyra’s young son perished in a dragonback skirmish, thereby setting the stage for a looming conflict.
“Season 2 is the march to war,” co-creator Ryan Condal revealed. “It’s really a cold war because each side is trying to undeniably win the throne for themselves without going to all-out dragon war. We do that through plotting and backstabbing and assassination and spy games and all the things that you would see in a classic James Bond Cold War thriller,” he added.
Fans can stream the season 2 premiere on HBO and Max this June 16.
