Is Daemon Targaryen Bisexual?
So what is Daemon‘s take on romantic and sexual relationships? Through the series, it can be seen that the character has four wives through marriage. This includes his first wife, Lady Rhae Royce; his commoner mistress Lady Mysaria; his scandalous second marriage to Lady Laena Velaryon and finally his niece, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen. But it is quite obvious that he must have had multiple relationships with different people. All the doubts about Daemon’s sexuality started with a scene in the sixth episode ‘The Princess and The Queen‘ of ‘House Of The Dragons‘. The viewers have spotted an instance where Daemon is affectionate towards one of the male servants while seated for dinner with his wife, Laena at their Pentos residence.
Finally, Twitter took matters to hand and set out to investigate. Fans came and pointed out the deleted scenes, one in which Daemon was in the background making out with a man. This is how ‘House Of The Dragons‘ fans came to the conclusion of the Targaryen being bisexual.
Is Rhaenyra Targaryen Bisexual?
Though Dameon is never mentioned to be bisexual in the book, the one character that is mentioned to be bisexual is Princess Rhaenyra. Fans were pretty disappointed that her bisexuality hadn’t been depicted in the series, along with the incestuous relationship between Daemon, Rhaenyra and Laena also being omitted. The series had also been accused of “queerbaiting” as the friendship between Alicent Hightower and Princess Rhaenyra had given sapphic vibes in the earlier episodes.
