Who Was The Mountain In ‘Game Of Thrones’?
Gregor Clegane is a fictional character in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series of fantasy novels and ‘Game of Thrones.’ He was a knight and retainer to the House Lannister.
The Mountain is mostly known for his towering personality (around 6 ft 8 inch), prowess in battle, extremely cruel nature, and short temper. He is the older brother of Sandor ‘The Hound‘ Clegane.
They never got along after Gregor gruesomely scarred Sandor when they were children by shoving his face into a brazier.
After being wounded in a duel with Oberyn Martell, The Mountain is resuscitated by Qyburn through sinister methods. He then becomes a member of the Kingsguard and the personal bodyguard of Cersei Lannister. In the final episode, Gregor and Sandor get into a fight and die.

Actors Who Portrayed The Mountain
The character of Gregor went through a change. That change wasn’t just physical but with the actors who portrayed it as well. Australian actor Conan Stevens played the role in the first season.
Later, Welsh actor and basketball player Ian Whyte did the role in the second season. However, the third entry gave both the character as well as the actor gave prominence.
Icelandic actor and strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson took over the role in the fourth season and continued in the role until the final season.
It was his first main acting role and has since been referred to as Thor or The Mountain in real life.
