‘1899′: A “Bon Voyage”
‘1899‘ pilots with immigrant passengers boarding the ship, Cerebrus, named after the three-headed dog of Greek mythology that guards Hades’ door, God of the underworld. While the ship sails, the captain of the ship, Eyk Larsen, receives a perplexing message from another ship. Why is the message perplexing? The sender of the message is the ship, Prometheus which was deemed lost at sea months ago. Despite the disagreement by the passengers, the weather-beaten captain makes a “brave decision” to take a detour to find Prometheus. When they meet with the battered ship, they find none of the passengers except a boy. The whereabouts and state of the Prometheus passengers are still unknown.
But the mystery doesn’t part with us yet as Cerebrus is now infected with the same ill fate. Passengers die, anomalies occur as the ship drags Prometheus and somehow it is all related to the boy’s strange pyramid. Maura, played by Emily Beecham, is the only doctor on board who has secrets that might be connected to misfortunes on the ship. The episodes are of fifty minutes, and each ended with a bigger cliffhanger. Naturally, the last episode was a major hair-pulling suspense that indicated the making of another season.
