The zombie-apocalyptic show ‘The Walking Dead‘ came to an end just in 2022. The story revolves around a group of survivors after a zombie apocalypse and their struggle to survive. Death is almost around the corner in every episode of the show. Glenn Rhee is one of the central characters of the show who faced a very tragic death.
The zombies in the show are referred to as ‘walkers’, creating havoc towards humans and other creatures to eat them. They are attracted to loud noise, such as gunshots, and to different scents, that of humans. Although it initially seems that only humans that are bitten or scratched by walkers can turn into other walkers. Later it is revealed that all living humans carry the pathogen responsible for the mutation. The mutation is activated after the death of the pathogen’s host. The only way to permanently kill a walker is to damage its brain or destroy the body entirely, such as by cremating it.

Who Is Glenn Rhee On ‘The Walking Dead’?
The main supply runner for the Atlanta survivor camp, Glenn Rhee is loyal, smart, and quick on his feet. He is compassionate and always puts himself in danger to save the group. He shows a great deal of humanity and is a big-time risk-taker. He’s an integral part of the group, showing surprising depth and emotion even when experiencing the most devastating tragedies. Rhee saves Rick Grimes from a walker and brings him back to his camp, reuniting Grimes with his family.
During his stay at the farms, he develops a close relationship with Maggie Greene and her father Hershel Greene. In the episode ‘This Sorrowful Life”‘ Rhee gives Maggie a ring cut off from the finger of a female walker outside the Prison after getting Hershel’s blessing to marry her. Maggie accepts the ring, and they become engaged. Until his last breath, he cared for the people he loved.

In Which Episode Does Glenn Die?
Glenn Rhee’s death was inevitable. He lived and died protecting people around him. In season seven of ‘The Walking Dead’ episode ‘The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be’ we witnessed the death of Glenn Rhee. ‘The Walking Dead’ doesn’t really follow the comics, but one of the few plotlines it followed was Glenn’s death. As in the comics, his death was very brutal in the series as well. Negan and the Saviors captured Rick and his allies at his mercy. To demonstrate the consequences of crossing the Saviors, Negan brutally executed a member of Rick’s group, who happened to be Glenn, by bashing his head in with his trademark weapon, Lucille.
As heartbreaking as it is, Glenn’s death was necessary for the character arc of many-especially Negan as he seeks redemption. Glee’s death was so disturbing and brutal that even after the show ended, his death is imprinted into the minds of the fan. The tragedy of Rhee’s death continues to influence both the spinoff ‘Fear The Walking Dead‘ and the original series.
