According to Variety, HBO executives Francesca Orsi and Erin Underhill the president of Universal Television have expressed their admiration for Julian Fellowes and her creation, ‘The Gilded Age’. So, they have renewed the show for another season, much to the joy of fans.

While the show is a product of fiction, it draws from the late 19th-century clashes that happened between New York City’s old riches and new elite. It was an era of unprecedented splendor, where modernity tried to assimilate into the American fabric of society. Hence, period drama lovers quickly got hooked on to the show. About the series title, Fellowes had told EW, “The important word is gilded. That tells us it was all about the surface. It was all about the look of things, making the right appearance, creating the right image.”
