The science fiction television series ‘The Orville‘ created by Seth MacFarlane, premiered in 2017 and has had 3 successful seasons to date. It is a futuristic show set 400 years into the future and primarily deals with the adventures of the crew of the USS Orville. Disney Plus, in June 2022, released the long-awaited third season of ‘The Orville’.
The latest installment of the sci-fi series delivered an engaging plot that included exciting betrayals, intergalactic alliances, and intense conflicts that kept the viewers on the edge of their seats. The season ended neatly with most of them being wrapped up, however, it did leave several questions unanswered. Fans have been left guessing the future of the Union and if and what consequences will Krill Supreme Chancellor Teleya face.

‘The Orville’ Season 4 Possibility
The fans have been left eagerly awaiting news about the future of the series since there still has been confirmation of a fourth season as of April 2023. While viewers have been left hungry for answers, it seems that any updates on a potential continuation of the show is going to be taking some time. However, there is still hope for a possible return of the series as actor Chad L. Coleman in an interview with Cinemablend hinted at a ‘promising meeting’ between Seth MacFarlane and Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Dana Walden in 2023.
“We’re all in the loop and out of the loop. We think it’s gonna happen, but it’s still up in the air,” Coleman said. “There’s so much going on with all of these studios that it’s just like, ‘Well, we gotta settle this thing first, then we can really decide on that thing.’” The contracts of most of the cast members expired after season 3, so even if a new season is in the works, it’s highly likely it won’t be before several long discussions and contract arrangements.

The Return Of Cast Members
Even though there’s been no official confirmation for season 4 of ‘The Orville‘, an informed guess can be made about which cast members can return. The list includes Commander Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki), Lieutenant Commander Bortus (Peter Macon), Lieutenant Commander John LaMarr (J. Lee), Dr. Claire Finn (Penny Johnson), Isaac (Mark Jackson), Klyman (Chad L. Coleman), Lieutenant Commander Talla Keyali (Jessica Szohr), and Lysella (Giorgia Whigham).
What To Expect From The Plot Of’ The Orville’ Season 4
Season 3 of ‘The Orville‘ ended with a bang, and it is a safe bet to make that Season 4 will start from exactly where it left off. The end of the third season saw the Krill form an alliance with the Moclan in an attempt to destroy the Kaylons with a unique weapon. Ensign Charly Burke even died trying to save the Kaylons, so that’s one character that won’t be returning for season 4.
There was a sense of finality in the season 3 finale, ‘Future Unknown‘ with the Kaylons allying with the Union and Claire and Issac’s marriage. However, the door for more conflicts and space battles is always open with Krill Supreme Chancellor Teleya being tried for her war crimes. Whatever the plot of the next season will be, there are always newer adventures waiting as the USS Orville ventures into the unknown.
