    Is ‘Yellowstone’ Season 6 Happening?

Yellowstone has received a positive response ever since it premiered on Paramount Network in 2018. It has aired for five seasons until now but audiences want to watch it for one more season or maybe more.

Meanwhile, the producers confirmed back in May 2023 that the fifth season will be the final season. A sixth season has not been confirmed so far. However, the series has led to a few spin-offs that include ‘1883’, ‘1923’, and ‘Lawmen: Bass Reeves.’ Another spin-off titled ‘6666’ is currently under development.

‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 will be the final season

Paramount revealed in May 2023 that ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 will be the final season and the story will continue in an untitled sequel that is premiering in December 2023.

So considering everything, fans should consider the sequel as the sixth season and there won’t be a separate season for the show. President and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios Chris McCarthy also shared a statement on the same.

Chris said that the show has been a starting point for a few other hit shows and that they are confident that the sequel will turn out to be equally successful. Chris also revealed that the sequel will be created by Taylor Sheridan.

‘Yellowstone’ was canceled due to a problem of one of the lead actors

Although ‘Yellowstone’ was loved by critics and audiences, producers decided to pull the plug and the reason was Kevin Costner. While Paramount Network and Taylor Sheridan announced the end of the show, they added that it was due to disagreements with Kevin Costner over the shooting schedule.

Costner portrays John Dutton but he could give only 65 days for the shooting schedule. However, he decreased it to 50 for the first half and then for a week in the second half of the season. The demands of Costner led to “morale problems” for everyone else, forcing the producers to end the show.
