As a crucial part of Marvel Phase Five, ‘Loki’ season two was one of the most anticipated Marvel projects of this year. After the blip and elimination of almost half of the universe, Phase Five introduced the fans to a terrifying and powerful villain, Kang the Conqueror along with the concept of a multiverse.
The Multiverse is the main element of Phase Five and by far ‘Loki’ starring Tom Hiddleston has done justice to it. However, the fans are disappointed as the creators removed a multiversal war sequence from ‘Loki’ season two.

Why Was The Multiversal War Sequence Scrapped Off From Loki Season Two?
The concept of Multiversal War was first introduced in season one episode six of ‘Loki’. During the events of the episode, He Who Remains told Loki and Sylvie that he ended the Multiversal war as he established the TVA. Later the concept was again brought up in ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’ when Kang the Conqueror wanted to escape the Quantum Realm.
In an exclusive interview with Den of Geek, Kevin Wright, the executive producer of ‘Loki’ said that they had “early plans for a full-on Multiversal War to take place season two.” Wright further said, “In one version, we go full-on Multiversal War, but even as we were saying that it felt completely wrong, jumping to something we haven’t earned yet.”
It makes sense as the second season of ‘Loki’ was originally supposed to be released before ‘Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’, which could have changed the order of the MCU timeline.

What Will Be The Future Of The Multiversal War In MCU?
For now, the Multiversal War might have been sidelined, but it is not leaving Phase Five of MCU. The concept of a Multiverse is yet to be explored and as of now, only Loki has been established as a key character of Phase Five. Meanwhile, there are other projects lined up including ‘Secret Wars’, ‘Kang Dynasty’, and ‘Deadpool 3’ that will toy around with the concept of Multiverse.
However, it is still a mystery when and how the Multiversal War might be introduced. For now, ‘Loki’ season two is building up anticipation and excitement for the upcoming MCU projects that are lined up.
