Fans often cross the limits when they don’t like a particular show. They sometimes even degrade the actors through online trolling. ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power‘ which is based on the writings of JRR Tolkien and set centuries before Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord Of The Rings‘ received heavy backlash.
The viewers responded negatively towards the source material of season one. They even targeted black cast members of the show and used racial slurs as well. Morfydd Clark is unable to “tune out” from the backlash the show has received.

Morfydd Clark On Fans Using Racist Slurs For Black ‘Rings Of Power’ Cast Members
The first season of ‘The Rings Of Power ‘ received a lot of backlash in 2022. But it doesn’t affect the cast members of the show. Ahead of the show’s new season Morfydd Clark who plays the role of elf Galadriel, was asked about her response in an interview with NME. Clark talked about this issue and said, “I don’t think you really can tune it out”.
She continued, “Our cast’s close and we’re as happy as our least happy castmate… some people need to be protected and picked up and that’s something that is just going to be ongoing”.
Fans crossed the limit when they targeted the black cast members with racist slurs which is completely unacceptable. If fans don’t like a certain season or episode they shouldn’t target the actors as they are doing their job of performing, nothing else.
Moreover, during that time the cast members also released a lengthy joint statement on Instagram calling out the “relentless harassment” few cast members received.

Morfydd Clark Is Glad About Cast Responding To “Relentless Harassment”
Speaking against the absurd words was the least cast members could do but they are glad that they did it. Speaking about it Clark continued, “I’m really glad that we did that. I think it was really important for our castmates, but also I couldn’t appreciate how much it would mean to so many people…”
In the statement, they affirmed that “BIPOC people belong in Middle-earth and are here to stay.”
She further continued, “We all wrote the message together in different countries – being like, ‘I don’t think the comma’s in the right place.’ It was like, ‘Oh my god we’re never going to post this thing!”
Clark added that with the combined effort of all the cast members they tried to shut down bullies. She said, “And then eventually Ben Walker [who plays High King Gil-Galad] was just like, ‘I’ve posted it, go!’ And so we all went live… It was showing the best parts of the community.”
‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power‘ season 2 will hit Amazon Prime Video on August 29. The creators and cast have much higher hopes for the show this time and will definitely try to bounce after the underwhelming season one.
