‘Ted Lasso’ Season 3: Why Was Isaac Upset With Colin?

From trading blows to exchanging words of love, ‘Ted Lasso’ took quite the rocky road for many relationships. While Jack and Keeley are finally done, Nate proves his fidelity by standing up to Rupert, his philandering boss. Roy Kent gets humbled and challenged by her boss Rebecca.

The biggest storyline was Colin finally coming out to fellow AFC Richmond players. He gets unequivocal support from his teammates and the coaching staff. However, Isaac, who’s known for a while, gives him the silent treatment. But in his way, he ends up standing up for his teammate and friend.

Things are going well for AFC Richmond on the football side of things as they finally grasp the tactical genius of Total Football. But the camaraderie is down, with Isaac giving Colin the cold shoulder. Playing against Brighton and Hove Albion, an exasperated Colin quickly gives a goal. Isaac is furious at him but for all the wrong reasons. One particularly rude fan starts yelling homophobic slurs, which upsets Isaac.

Even with all his anger, it doesn’t stop him from going up to the stands and beating the arrogant fan senselessly. His action earns him a red card. Back in the locker, Isaac freaks out. While everyone assumes Isaac is gay, Colin finally tells the team about his sexuality. As expected, everyone is supportive. Now with nothing to hide, Colin focuses on the game. He redeems himself with two assists as Richmond clinched a 2-1 victory over Brighton And Hove Albion.

Isaac later shows up at Colin’s house. He wasn’t angry but upset about Colin not trusting him. Colin explains to Isaac why hiding his sexuality was purely personal and had nothing to do with his trust in his teammates. They reconcile, settling in with a game of FIFA 2023 as Colin answers all of Isaac’s strange questions about him.

On the other side, Roy takes his opportunity and tells a heart-wrenching personal story at a press conference. Being vulnerable- he finally runs towards it, not away from it. This moment and Keely’s newly found single status can potentially lead to a reconciliation as ‘Ted Lasso’ heads up to its finale.
