Raymond Reddington is an intelligent individual who has developed sociopathic tendencies. He is sly, manipulative, and charming and remains a few steps ahead of everyone else. He has a dislike towards rude people and he considers that what he has done in the criminal world is all an effect of the murder of his family. Being a ruthless individual, he chuckles when he kills someone.
Dembe Zuma made his debut as a former freedom fighter from South Sudan. He is later revealed to be the youngest son of Samwel Zuma, a farmer. Zuma spent eight years in the world of human trafficking. He was found half-dead and chained to a pipe in the basement of a Nairobi-based brothel by Reddington and he was taken care of by Reddington himself.
