Valorie Curry, known for her role as Firecracker in the hit Amazon Prime series ‘The Boys’, has spoken out about a recent incident of harassment that occurred at Belfast Comic-Con. While her character in the show has done some bizarre things, the actress does not fall in line with those.
Curry recently shared a video on social media, detailing how some fans crossed boundaries and made her feel uncomfortable. The actress made it clear that she was not okay with doing things that Firecracker did outside of the show. Here’s what she said.
Valorie Curry Sets Boundaries After Uncomfortable Experience At Comic Con
In her video on X, Valorie Curry emphasized the importance of respecting boundaries and appropriate behavior at conventions. She explained that while she enjoys meeting fans, she will not tolerate harassment or inappropriate comments. “I know people saw a character that I played do some really extreme things on The Boys and I don’t care if you’re in costume, I don’t care if you’re in character – it’s not OK,” she stated.

“And it’s not funny to demand those things from me in person at my booth. It’s not OK,” she added. Curry recounted how two fans approached her at her booth and began to make comments about the controversial scenes she has been in on ‘The Boys‘. Moreover, her attempts to make it clear that such comments were inappropriate were looked over by the fans.
According to her, they persisted, which made her feel deeply uncomfortable. The actress claimed that she made it clear that it was neither okay nor funny to ask her to do those scenes. Moreover, while she thanked her other fans, she made her boundaries clear.
Valorie Curry Draws Clear Boundary Between Her Character Firecracker And Herself
Valorie Curry joined the cast of ‘The Boys’ in season 3 as Firecracker, a complex and controversial character, and a hardcore right-wing antagonist. The character did a lot of “stuff” to gain the most powerful supe, Homelander’s favor.
Her portrayal of Firecracker has been praised for its nuance and intensity.

However, despite the character’s extreme views, Curry has emphasized that Firecracker is separate from her as a person. The actress has stated that everything Firecracker does is part of her excellent acting and that she finds the character repulsive.
Moreover, she also previously talked to THR about portraying a character who is so different from her own beliefs and values. While Curry is an LGBTQIA+ ally and a part of it, Firecracker is the opposite.
Moreover, in recent weeks, there have been wider discussions among celebrities about fan behavior. Chappell Roan, for example, has asked her fans to leave her alone and not harass or stalk her.
