    ‘The Lord of Rings: The Rings of Power’ will hit the screens around the world on September 2 this year. The TV series is said to have 5 seasons already planned out till its finale. Through these seasons, the audience can deeply explore the complicated and extensive territory of Middle Earth.

    Elrond is not a new face, as he can be seen in the Jackson trilogy played by actor Hugo Weaving. In this series, Elrond is portrayed by the British actor, Robert Aramayo. Yes, the one who played younger Ned Stark in ‘Game of Thrones’. The character Elrond has a lot to live up to in his life.

    As the story begins, he is just an ambitious young politician of half-elven heritage. He dwelt in Middle-earth from the first age to the beginning of the fourth age. Later on, he went on to become the mighty Elf ruler, the Lord of Rivendell. Elrond was a skillful warrior and one of the most incorruptible leaders of Middle-earth.

    Why Did He Choose Immortality?

    Elrond was once given the choice of kindreds to be counted among Man or Elves. And he chose to be counted as an Elven kind, which made him immortal. Thus he went on to follow the path of his parents, unlike his brother who chose to be mortal. Thus making Elros prominent among men and Elrond prominent among elves.

    With this choice, he stayed in Lindon as the captain and herald of Gil-galad, the High King of the Nolder, before being Lord himself. Elrond, being a Half-elf had a powerful family legacy to live up to. He strived to be like his father, Eärendil, who had once saved Middle-earth from evil. It is understood that while Elros succumbs to death as a man, Elrond goes on to live for about 6000 years.
