Loosely adapted from ‘Sense and Sensibility’, ‘From Prada to Nada’ gives the Austen classic a Latina spin. Spoiled sisters Nora and Mary are living comfortably in Beverly Hills when their father’s sudden death leaves them penniless. Forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles, the sisters try to adjust to their new lives as Mary returns to college and Nora gets a job.
8. Fire Island (2022)
This charming queer rom-com follows a group of best friends on their annual vacation to New York’s Fire Island Pines, where a week of love and laughter takes an unexpected turn. As romance becomes complicated by class differences, their bond as a chosen family gets tested. 7. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies (2016)
While its star-studded cast led by Lily James and Sam Riley keeps it from being truly obscure, ‘Pride & Prejudice & Zombies’ still remains pretty underrated. Aisha loves playing the matchmaker and is convinced she can find the perfect partner for anyone. 4. Bride And Prejudice (2004)

This modern YouTube adaptation of ‘Emma’ reimagines Emma Woodhouse as a lifestyle coach, matchmaker and event planner who decides to document her life and business for a future documentary. We see the plot unfold through 5–7-minute episodes spanning over 70 instalments, transforming the classic story into a modern workplace tale that feels perfectly suited to the digital age.
1. The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (2012-2013)
The predecessor to ‘Emma Approved’, this clever web series reimagines ‘Pride and Prejudice’ through a series of vlog-style videos posted on YouTube by Elizabeth Bennet. Told through 2 to 8-minute episodes, the story unfolds through Lizzie’s perspective, with her friends and sisters often chiming in to add their own version of the events.
