Threaded with politics and betrayal, love and hate, conflicting relationships, and competition, the ‘House of the Dragon‘ is going to revolve around the history of the House of Targaryen. The series will delve deep into the past, about 150 years before the events in ‘Game of Thrones‘ take place. The storyline would answer many of the loose threads of what happened to the mightiest Targaryen.
The prequel had its second episode hit the screens on August 28 and seems to have been well received by its audience. The medieval fantasy has its story at a crucial point in the episode and renders much thrill and suspense. It also sets a stage for questioning how the future of the Targaryen is going to unwind. With clashes waiting ahead, the Targaryens will split into groups. And one such party would be the Green Council.

Who Are The Greens In ‘House Of The Dragon’?
The future of Targaryen would be marked by a war, known as the Dance of the Dragons between The Greens and The Blacks. The Green council also known as the Queen’s party would support Viserys’s son, Aegon II Targaryen. The prominent Green council members are Alicent Hightower, the second wife of Viserys Targaryen, and Ser Otto Hightower, former Hand of the King, and father to Alicent, Cristen Cole, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and Hand of the King, Ser Tyland Lannister, master of ships, then master of coins, Lord Jasper Wylde, master of laws, Lord Larys Strong, master of whisperers and finally Grand Maester Orwyle.

Why Is The Queen’s Party Called The Green Council?
There was an opening feast in the King’s Landing, in connection to the fifth anniversary of the marriage of King Viserys I and his second wife, Queen Alicent Hightower. At this great tournament, Queen Alicent wore a green gown whilst, Viserys’ daughter by his first marriage, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen wore a red and black dress representing her tradition. Thus the Princess’s party dressed in black came to be known as the Blacks and the Queen’s party dressed in green came to be known as the Greens or the Green council. The loyal faction at the court took to these fashion trends and it became a custom to refer to each council as the Greens and the Blacks.
