Why Beth Dutton Cannot Have Children
Despite not sharing a great relationship with her mother, Beth Dutton did not want to repeat history. But sadly for Dutton, she couldn’t conceive kids. In the past, Beth had become pregnant and asked Jamie for help to abort the child. He took her to the Indian Health Services fee clinic to keep the surgery as secret as possible. But Jamie kept the fact that abortion cannot happen without sterilizing his sister.
Beth Dutton does not reveal to Rip Wheeler that she is unable to have children, fearing it might create distance between them. Though Wheeler reassures her that, it won’t change the way he feels about her. Beth also does not mention that she was pregnant with Rip’s baby and Jamie agreed to sterilize her without even consulting her.
