Why Did Jinx Go Crazy In ‘Arcane’?
Powder or Jinx suffered from PTSD, a massive inferiority complex, and mental illness. She was too dependent on Vi and loved her to her core. Since both of them have been together since their parent’s death, the duo naturally came closer. Although they weren’t blood-related sisters, Powder considered her more than that.
There were a few incidents that led Powder to nearly go mad with frustration, anger, and jealousy. The first incident that spread its root was Powder’s parent’s death. She was also the one responsible for the death of Vander, and their friends. Vi in a fit of anger blamed her for all of these and called her a ‘jinx’.
Later she got adopted into their enemy gang, which completely changed her as a person. Under Silco, Powder changed her name to Jinx. Years later, Jinx met Vi once again which ignited her feelings for Vi. Things took a new turn after their brief meeting. Vi now had a close friend Caitlyn, who was disliked by Jinx very much.
According to Jinx, she was responsible for the failing relationship between her and Vi, thinking Vi gave Powder’s spot to Caitlyn now. Furthermore, the World Peace treaty did no good at this point. As Jinx misunderstood the situation and Silco, she ended up killing him in a fit of anger.

All About Jinx and Vi
She thought she was being abandoned by everyone, so it’s better to kill them than suffer alone. Furthermore, she also blasted the council building which undoubtedly dealt way too much damage to both worlds. All these slowly developing feelings of frustration, anger, and inferiority complex, made her go wild in rage. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t like her sister.
Jinx loved Vi just as much as she did in the beginning. She never really hated Vi. Her massive change from Powder to Jinx is still unknown, but it may also be due to comments she heard Vi make about her being clumsy. Maybe she wanted to prove her worth in some way.
Even in all this chaos, she asked Vi if she would choose Caitlyn or her if given the choice. Undoubtedly, she still loved her as her sister and wanted to be with her. Caitlyn standing beside Vi, made her go nuts, as she thought Vi has forgotten her and given Caitlyn her place.
