Summary of ‘Demon Slayer’
‘Demon Slayer’ follows the journey of Tanjiro Kamado who along with his sister Nezuko Kamado (recently turned demon) goes in search of Muzan Kibutsuji (the antagonist) to find ways to cure and turn her sister back into a human. Along his journey, he performs his duty as a demon slayer and finds friends along the way.
The whole world of ‘Demon Slayer’ revolves around the protagonist and Muzan, who has the power to turn a person into a demon. Among the demon slayers, there are higher ranks of fighters known as ‘Hashira’, and under Muzan there are higher demons known as ‘Upper Moon’. Both sides continuously clash, their motive being to end one another. It’s basically good vs evil.
In this never-ending fight, the Fire Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku gets intel on a demon terrorizing the Mugen Train and decides to eradicate the cause of it. He is joined by Tanjiro, and his two friends Inosuke and Zenitsu. Though the group successfully solves the problem by killing the demon Enmu, there’s a sudden twist in their short-lived victory.
While tired from their exchange with Enmu, the four are surprised by the entry of Akaza, one of the Upper 3 ranks. Akaza seemed a bit obsessed with Rengoku and wanted to turn him into a demon. Well, that doesn’t happen, but in this fight Rengoku loses his life, whereas the latter gets deeply wounded, thus ending the scene on a tragic note.

Movie Vs TV Series
While the movie is of 12 hours, the TV Series has 7 elongated episodes. And you know what to expect! There are many details included in the series rather than in the movie. It’s quite normal that the movie will have to cut scenes if it has a particular time end.
Other than this fact, there’s not much of a difference. Quality wise both are fabulous. The episode details in the series are something to enjoy, while the movie deleted those parts. If you are not super busy with your day, do give the series a shot. If you want a quick glimpse of what you’ll get from the anime itself, the movie will keep you on your toes.
