‘Bleach’ and ‘Naruto’ are two of the most popular animes of all time. Both of them are of the shonen genre and are part of the big three along with ‘One Piece’. Because of their genre and their sheer popularity, there has always been an ongoing debate as to which anime is the better one.
The anime community has always been divided on the answer, some consider ‘Naruto’ to be the superior big three anime, whilst the other half argues that it’s ‘Bleach’. Both sides have valid reasons to defend their choices. Read to know which anime is the better one and why.

What Are Bleach And Naruto?
‘Bleach‘ is an anime based on a manga written by Tite Kubo under the same name. The story of this anime follows a fifteen years old Kurosaki Ichigo who has always been able to see ghosts his entire life. Whilst others may find ghosts scary, Ichigo doesn’t find them that way at all. He even tries to help them. His life turns upside down one day when he encounters a hollow and is saved by Kuchiki Rukia, a member of the Gotei 13. From there on Ichigo’s journey begins.
‘Naruto’ is based on a manga written under the same name by Masashi Kishimoto. The anime follows Uzumaki Naruto, a young boy in the village of Konoha. Naruto is the jinchuriki of the nine-tailed fox and because of that has always been discriminated against by the villagers. To get the villagers to acknowledge him, he vows to become the Hokage of the village. The anime follows his journey as he overcomes multiple obstacles, literally saves the world, and then finally becomes the Hokage.
Which Anime Is Better?
The answer to this question may vary according to the person’s interests and choices. However, based on popular opinion, ‘Naruto’ is considered to be better. People like the concept of Zanpakuto that ‘Bleach’ offers. They find it to be unique and quite amazing, but according to most fans, they find the plot to be lacking.
The villains in ‘Naruto’ had a valid reason to turn evil except for a few. Their backstories were truly tragic, such as Pain’s and it moved the fans. The villains in ‘Bleach’ however, are mostly evil for the sake of it. They just want power and they would do anything for it. They want to create a better world according to their terms and wishes.
In addition to that, fans find the characters in ‘Naruto’ to be better. Characters such as Hinata, Gaara, and Neji had tremendous and exponential character growth. Even Sasuke’s return to the village was well written. There is no such growth in the characters in ‘Bleach’ save for Byakuya. Most fans also find Uzumaki Naruto to be a better protagonist than Ichigo. They feel that Naruto is better and has more depth to him than Ichigo. This is why they consider ‘Naruto’ to be the better anime.
