What Is The Hokage?
The Hokage is part of the five Kage of the ‘Naruto’ world. There are a total of five Kage, Raikage, Tsuchukage, Mizukage, Kazekage, and Hokage. They are the most important figures in the Land of Hi, hence they get their name ‘Hokage’.
The position was created by Hashirama Senju who was the first Hokage himself. It was created to be given to Madara, but the villagers chose Hashirama instead and that sparked jealousy and insecurity in Madara. He was worried that the Hokage position would forever remain with the Senju clan if this happened.
This hierarchy was followed by all the villages and the current Hokage is Naruto, who is the seventh Hokage. Ironically, Madara’s fear came true because all the Hokage of Konoha has some connection to the Senju clan. Most fans are already aware of all this, so let’s find out what the shadow Hokage is.
What Is The Shadow Hokage?
There is no official position known as the Shadow Hokage in the history of Konoha, nor in any other village. However, Naruto called Sasuke shadow Hokage because he deals with all the threats to the village from outside the village.
Whilst Naruto is the village’s face and deals with anything and everything from inside the village, Sasuke does something opposite to it. After Naruto, Sasuke is the strongest Shinobi not only in Konoha but in all of the five nations. That makes him one of the few capable people to handle threats to the world.
That’s exactly what Sasuke does. He protects the village of Konoha as well as the five nations as a Hokage does. This is why Naruto refers to him as the Shadow Hokage. He has mentioned in the anime of ‘Boruto’, that while he protects the village from the inside, Sasuke protects it from the outside. That’s what a Shadow Hokage is and why Sasuke was termed that.
