His heartbeat turns musical and it is said that this form brings joy to people around the user.

As mentioned above, the fifth gear made its anime debut in episode 1071 of ‘One Piece’. Prior to this episode, the previous episodes which were centered around big mom and Zoro, were simply amazing and raised the fans’ expectations for the much-awaited transformation. However, it seems, they fumbled the task.
The episode had a longer than usual intro and it had a lot of flashbacks. These flashbacks cut into the screen time for the fifth gear which upset the fans. In addition to that, the confrontation between Hiyori and Orochi also took up a big chunk of the screen time. According to many fans, the animation and the pace were quite slow and the animation also made it hard for the fans to follow the storyline. All of the things combined upset the fans quite a lot as they wished that the episode would be just about Luffy and the fifth gear. These are the instances where the big debut of gear fifth failed in the anime.
