Why Is Naruto’s Bijuu Mode Different From The Other Jinchuriki?

The tailed beasts in ‘Naruto’ have played a very important role in the series. Not only in the Shinobi war, but from the start of the series, the tailed beasts, especially the nine-tailed beast, or Kurama had a centric role. Naruto and Kurama weren’t on good terms and Naruto lost control of Kurama a few times. However, during the Shinobi war, Naruto managed to befriend him.

Naruto started using the Bijuu mode. However, his Bijuu mode was a little different from other-tailed beasts. Read to find out why that is.

Bijuu mode is a special power that is unique to the jinchurikis. Jinchuriki is the people who have a tailed beast sealed inside them. Through this particular mode, the Jinchuriki can call upon the tailed beast and its chakra to assist them either in battle or in general.

The Bijuu mode can cause the user to turn into a rendition of the tailed beast it possesses, in essence, he becomes the tailed beast and gains tremendous power. Many Jinchurikis grow tails or extra limbs if they do not turn into a beast by using this mode. For instance, Killer B spouted tentacles which are unique to the eight-tailed beast.

Naruto’s Bijuu mode however is different. He gains a yellowish hue around himself and doesn’t turn into a beast. Nor does he grow any additional limbs. Fans are curious about the reason behind this difference.

While it has not been mentioned canonically why his Bijuu mode is different, fans have certain theories. Firstly, Naruto had the Hakke no Fuin Shiki seal to seal Kurama. This seal is far more potent than any other seal used to seal Beasts. This seal keeps the chakra of the jinchuriki and the tailed beast separate rather than melting them into one.

This entails that when Kurama’s assistance is required, Naruto does not need to switch to his chakra and gain some of his elements, but rather only needs to call upon Kurama. This allows him to not change into a full beast and to not grow any limbs or tails.

Another theory is that Naruto is Ashura’s incarnation, who is Hagoromo’s son. Ashura’s beast form was very similar to Naruto’s and fans believe that Ashura’s incarnation may have something to do with Naruto’s different Bijuu mode. It may also have something to do with the fact that Kurama’s chakra was divided into two when Minato sealed his Yang side away. Naruto got this side later and he was technically fighting with half of Kurama’s chakra. This would also explain why Minato was able to use the same form.
