Who Is Osamu Tezuka?
Some of the most popular manga such as ‘Attack On Titan’, ‘Jujutsu Kaisen‘ and ‘Demon Slayer’ are written and drawn in the way they are due to Osamu Tezuka. Osamu Tezuka is considered the god of manga and for good reason. Osamu was born in Japan before World War II. He was born in 1928 and he revolutionized anime and manga. He created a new style of writing manga, drawing characters with big expressive eyes and altering their facial features.
Osamu has created around 700 manga and has helped in the creation of over 60 Anime. This makes him one of the most established and popular mangakas in Japan. Osamu, unfortunately, passed away in 1989 at the age of 60. The reason for his demise was stomach cancer. A museum was created in his honor in Takarazuka in Japan.
Osamu published his manga ‘New Treasure Works‘ in 1947 and that was the beginning of the revolution he would bring about in the world. His work and thinking process affected a lot of mangakas which altered their work. It was ‘Astro Boy‘ that earned Osamu his fame. The manga became popular nationally and many people read it. In addition to being popular with people, it also received a lot of awards. Osamu Tezuka was the reason for manga’s success in Japan. He changed the previous way of manga creation which was a little difficult to understand and adopted a way that was not only easy on the eyes but also allowed the reader to connect more with the story and the characters.
