The iconic trio from 2006’s fashion hit the ‘Devil Wears Prada‘ reunites at the 2024 SAG Awards stage. The two meek assistants Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway finally got the opportunity to ignite a little character blunder that they did.
Both the Hollywood divas and icon Meryl Streep have sat in the same circle since their fashion project but this is the first time they’ve been reunited on an award stage. At least since the little Oscar skit where the boss got the best of both the assistants.

Among the slideshow of the award night’s highlights is the reenactment of ‘Devil Wear’s Prada’s iconic 2007 Oscar skit at SAGs. So the play started as the Queen of drama Meryl walked up to the stage. One probably out-of-the-script moment was when the actress almost fumbled the microphone. Steadying herself the Oscar winner confessed that she forgot the two most vital things for her task and right then, her assistants appear on each side. To assist her of course.
After fixing her sight Meryl started, “Where the actor ends and the character begins”. And to that Blunt had the perfect comeback, “Meryl and Miranda Priestly are sort of like twins.”
Not agreeing with the sentiment Streep argued, “I don’t think I’m anything like…” but before she could complete, her second assistant corrected, “No, no. That wasn’t a question.” Now when the senior actress took a moment to soak in the situation Emily quoted the iconic fashion boss character back to her saying, “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that pleases me.” This humorous exchange erupted a wave of laughter and nostalgia from the audience.

Beyond the hilarious skit, the fashion trio’s attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed. While Streep came draped in Prada for the occasion, the ‘Princess Dairies’ star donned a cerulean blue gown, you know the one she didn’t choose.
The award-winning movie is not just another piece of cinematic literature but a bold statement in the world of fashion. Apart from the nostalgia of 2000s, the film’s art, costumes and cast have made it a gem shining in the history of fashion cinema.
