Putting a joyful end to the anticipation, Kate Hudson recently revealed in an interview that a sequel of the iconic film has been in the talks. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Hudson also revealed that she and McConaughey have spoken about returning to a sequel, and are quite ready for the prospect.

Based on Michele Alexander and Jeannie Long’s book of the same name, the 2003 rom-com ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ took over the box-office at the time of its release. Kate Hudson, who played the lead role of Andie Anderson, a magazine writer, in the film, also became rather popular after the film’s success.
After more than a decade since the film’s release, Hudson has revealed that she is open to reprising her iconic role for a sequel of the film. “I think they [studios] are always thinking about that,” she said on Watch What Happens Live, while also putting forth the only condition she has.
She stressed on the script, saying, “All that matters would be the script and if Matthew and I were into the script. I think we’re both totally open; it has just never happened.”

Matthew McConaughey Is Also On Board For A Potential Sequel
‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ is one of the most successful films in Matthew McConaughey’s career. He played advertising executive Benjamin Barry in the film, with the story going forward after he places a work bet on making a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. He then meets Kate Hudson’s Andie, and their romance kicks off.
Along with Hudson, he also gained heavy popularity after the film’s success. Naturally, he is open to reliving his glory too. When previously asked about his thoughts on a sequel back in 2020, he said, “I mean, ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ is teed up, you know, teed up for one that you could easily do a sequel.”
“And that was a really good one. As far as romantic comedies go, that was a really good one,” he added while speaking to E!’s Daily Pop.
Though both actors have publicly expressed willingness to star in the film’s sequel, there haven’t been any official announcements. Fans can only keep their fingers crossed and hope for the best.
