The Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt fallout has become one of the most dramatic stories of Hollywood, and it still continues to get a new layer of drama every day. While the two stars have clearly moved on from each other romantically, they are still on a battlefield for various legal matters including the custody of their children.
While all of their five children have time and again shown an affinity to be on their mother’s side, Pitt is seemingly hopeful about making amends with his children. However, in a recent development that highlights Pitt’s losing streak, their daughter Vivienne was listed as Vivienne Jolie instead of Vivienne Jolie Pitt in a recent credit. Here’s what happened.
Vivienne Jolie Drops “Pitt” From Her Name
Amidst the ongoing legal battle between them, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne has been credited as “Vivienne Jolie” for her role as an assistant and coproducer of Broadway’s ‘The Outsiders’. The playbill for the musical debuted on April 11 and has been co-produced by Angelina and Brad’s 15-year-old daughter.
The credits of the production have used Vivienne’s mother’s maiden name rather than the hyphenated “Jolie-Pitt” surname that all her other siblings including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and Knox, share.
Though it is unclear if Vivienne has legally changed her name, the development comes as a downside for Brad Pitt, who has seemingly been making efforts to reconcile with his children.

Angelina Jolie Praises Her Daughter’s Dedication For Her Project
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie and her daughter Vivienne attended the red carpet event for the Broadway debut together, where Jolie also praised her daughter’s dedication. “She’s been a really tough assistant. She takes it very, very seriously” Jolie said.
The actress has herself been leading the producing team of ‘The Outsiders‘ since it was announced in August 2023 that it would be heading to Broadway. Her personal and legal struggles with her ex-husband Brad Pitt remain intact, with matters over their divorce, child custody, and the ownership of their French winery, Chateau Miraval. The couple married in 2014 but split two years later, and their divorce remains unresolved.
Vivienne taking her mother’s maiden name isn’t the first time one of Jolie and Pitt’s children has chosen to drop the “Pitt” from their surname. Last November, Zahara introduced herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” when she joined the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority at Spelman College. Jolie retains primary custody over her three minor children: Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
