Miley Cyrus after the release of her song ‘Used To Be Young’ had been very vocal about the things that happened in her life. She did a video series elaborating on every controversial moment in her life and career- from her divorce to her identity crisis. The pop star’s father Billy Ray Cyrus had once recounted how Hannah Montana had destroyed his family.
‘Hannah Montana’ started off in Disney back in 2006. It was not long before the series took the world by storm. The double life as an ordinary student in the morning and a pop star at night was the main plot of the series. With young Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus as cast, the series soon became a real-life sensation.

Billy Ray Cyrus On How ‘Hannah Montana’ Destroyed His Family
It has been years since the series ‘Hannah Montana’ hit the screens. Miley Cyrus’ father Billy Ray Cyrus was asked by GQ in 2011 if he thought that the series had played a role in breaking down his family. “Oh, it’s huge—it destroyed my family. I’ll tell you right now—the show destroyed my family,” the singer shared in the interview. The show had put both his daughter and the family under the limelight.
He admitted how he would take it all back in a second. “For my family to be and just be everybody OK, safe, sound, happy, and normal would have been fantastic. Heck, yeah. I’d erase it all in a second if I could,” Billy Ray Cyrus confided. The singer had talked of how he had tried to be a friend to his daughter but it had drawn a wedge between him and his children.

Fame Affected Miley Cyrus’ Family
In Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions) on Hulu, Miley Cyrus shared how she and her father had handled fame in very different ways. The 30-year-old had been “financially stable and emotionally stable” growing up, unlike her father. She also had a family ‘super close’ under the same roof.
“Him feeling loved by a big audience impacted him emotionally more than it ever could me. When he feels special or important, it’s like healing a childhood wound, and I’ve always been made to feel like a star. It makes me emotional, so I think that’s the difference,” the ‘Flowers’ singer explained in the video.
