Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have had one of the most tumultuous relationships in the history of Hollywood. Adding more to the rift are their children, who are inclined to side with their mother. Giving a statement loud and clear, their daughter Shiloh Jolie recently dropped the “Pitt” from her name.
The move caught heavy limelight as the rift between Jolie and Pitt continues, with the two mired in legal brawls. Sources have revealed how Pitt has been affected because of his daughter’s unexpected move. Here’s what he thinks.
Brad Pitt Is Distressed Over His Daughter’s Decision To Drop His Last Name
Days after Shiloh Jolie dropped “Pitt” from her name, her father is reportedly “mindful and upset“. A source has revealed that Pitt is distressed by the decision. Emphasizing the love Pitt has for the daughter he shares with Shiloh, the source said that Pitt had “never felt more satisfaction than when she was conceived“.
“He had always desired a daughter,” the source was quoted as saying by Page Six. The source asserted that the news “is obviously difficult for Brad”. The source added that Brad “cherishes his kids and misses them. It’s extremely miserable.”
Since his divorce with Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has moved on and is seemingly content with his new girlfriend Ines de Ramon. However, the separation from his children amid the ongoing legal disputes with his ex-wife still hurts him.
Another source quoted by Page Six further revealed that Brad Pitt has been immensely affected by the divorce and what it ensued for the relationship he shares with his children. “He actually cherishes every one of his children colossally. The entire process has been extremely difficult for the family,” the source said.

Brad Pitt’s Other Children Have Also Dropped Pitt From Their Last Names
Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Shiloh legally dropped the Pitt from her last name on her eighteenth birthday on May 27. She reportedly hired a personal lawyer and documented to change her name to Shiloh Jolie legitimately.
She was also listed as Vivienne Jolie on the Playbill for the Broadway production of ‘The Outsiders‘, even before she legally got her name changed. She co-produced the production with her mother Angelina Jolie.
Shiloh is not the first one to have dropped her last names. Last year, Zahara utilized Zahara Marley Jolie during her sorority enlistment at Spelman School. In 2021, their child Maddox also utilized Jolie rather than Pitt on non-authoritative records.
