The ‘One Dance’ singer Drake has bought the custom-made ring that once belonged to Tupac Shakur. The ring which cost more than $1 million at the auction was the one that Tupac wore while on his final public appearance. Drake recently wore the ring while on tour.
The Canadian rapper is currently on his ‘It’s All a Blur Tour’. Drake will also be soon releasing an album titled All the Dogs. The artist has also shared a new track titled ‘Search & Rescue’. He also has a guest appearance in Meltdown, one from Travis Scott’s latest album, Utopia. Here’s more about the action and Tupac’s crown-shaped ring.

Drake Buys Tupac’s Crown-Shaped Ring
The crown-shaped ring was described by Sotheby’s as “an exceedingly rare piece of Tupac’s signature aesthetic and a slice of hip-hop history.” Drake bought the accessory after Shakur’s godmother and lifelong supporter, Yaasmyn Fula kept it for auction this week.
Drake posted a photo of him with the ring while on the North American tour with 21 Savage. The ‘God’s Plan’ singer was seen with the ring that was dazzling gold, studded with ruby and diamond in the shape of a crown. The estimated price for the ring was $300,000. But it was sold for about triple the amount, $1.01 million. This made the ornament one of the most valuable hip-hop artifacts sold at auction, mentions USA Today.

Significance Of Tupac’s Ring
The ‘Changes’ rapper Tupac Shakur got the ring in 1996. It was designed and commissioned by the artist. That year, he appeared at the MTV Video Music Awards with the ring on his fingers, according to Sotheby’s. The accessory was engraved with the words “Pac & Dada 1996” in memory of his fiancee Kidada Jones.
The sale is happening at a time when the police are revoking the investigation into Tupac’s death. The artist was 25 years old when he died on September 13, 1996. The Las Vegas Police had recently served a search warrant in Nevada in connection to the drive-by shooting that happened about 30 years ago and killed the prolific rapper.
