Drake Targets Steve Lacy After Calling Out Kendrick Lamar During xQc’s Stream

Drake has officially re-entered the spotlight of his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar. However, this time, it wasn’t through a chart-topping track or a lyrical takedown. Instead, he chose an unlikely platform.

The rapper on a livestream with Kick star and fellow Canadian xQc seemingly dissed Lamar. He did not stop there and went after Steve Lacy, who was part of Lamar’s biggest diss track toward Drake.

Hip-hop fans have been keeping a close eye on the simmering tension between the two rap icons Drake and Kendrick Lamar. The beef hit its peak earlier this year, stemming from a seemingly innocent “Big Three” comment by J. Cole on a Drake song. This morphed into a heated lyrical exchange, with Kendrick ultimately taking the upper hand with his single ‘Not Like Us’.

Since then, Drake has remained uncharacteristically quiet, until now. Streaming alongside xQc, Drake didn’t hold back. While not addressing Lamar quietly, he dropped cryptic remarks that fans believe were aimed squarely at the Compton rapper. Drake opened the stream with a very casual introduction. “I’m Drake, this is xQc, real streaming legend. Me, I do music, in case you don’t know,” he stated.

However, it wasn’t long before the lighthearted banter gave way to pointed remarks. “I’m here, full intact, mind, body, and soul, in case you were wondering,” Drake stated. “You need facts to take me out, fairytales won’t do it.” While he didn’t name names, the timing was hard to ignore.

Later in the stream, Drake took an even more direct jab, this time at Steve Lacy. As one of Lacy’s tracksuits played in the background, Drake commented, “This guy’s like a fragile opp, but this is a good song though.” The term “fragile opp” sparked immediate debate online.

Fans speculated that Drake was alluding to Lacy’s role in Kendrick’s camp. Lacy has worked with Kendrick on ‘Not Like Us’ and appeared at his Pop Out: Ken & Friends’ concert earlier this year. He has been vocal about his allegiance to the Compton rapper.

Drake’s words seemed to acknowledge the growing alliances around Kendrick while dismissing them as inconsequential. Fans believe that the Canadian rapper is after everyone Lamar associates with. Moreover, after listening to Kendrick’s GNX, it’s clear that the beef isn’t over yet.

Fans React To Drake’s Comments

Drake’s recent comments on the ongoing beef with Kendrick Lamar have sparked mixed reactions from fans. While popular streamer xQc sided with Drake, the majority of fans have rallied behind Kendrick, especially with the release of his new album.

Many expressed that they were no longer interested in the beef and were focused on streaming Kendrick’s new album instead. Some fans criticized Drake, accusing him of hypocrisy, especially regarding his diss track on Kendrick. “Drake was talking fairytales on his version of The Heart Part 6,” one fan wrote on X, suggesting that Drake also made up “fairytales.”

Others pointed out that both rappers had been dishonest in their diss tracks. “He’s not wrong, but both of them were capping hard during the beef tho,” a fan noted. Some also drew attention to more serious allegations against Drake. Despite the debate over the accuracy of their claims, it’s safe to assume that Lamar won as most people sided with him.
