Though his talent is a well-known aspect worldwide, many are often left confused with Johnson’s ethnicity. The brew of cultures and backgrounds behind this powerhouse of talent has left many wondering, especially because of his physical appearance. Dwayne Johnson’s Rich Lineage
Wrestling is in Dwayne Johnson’s lineage. His grandfather, known as the ‘High Chief’, Peter Maivia, was as legendary a wrestler as Dwayne himself.
Next comes his father, Rocky Johnson, who was the first black wrestler to win the WWF Tag Team Championship. A combination of such talent from his father and grandfather was bound to create something extraordinary, which the world today calls The Rock.
Though his father was a black man, that is not all that’s there to the Rock’s lineage. His actual ethnicity is a combination of more ethnicities, the roots of which go deep into both his parents’ ancestry.
Dwayne’s mother was Samoan by heritage, while his father hailed from Black Nova Scotian descent. To add more to the diversity is a tinge of Irish ancestry that his paternal side carries.
