Fortnite lovers were greeted with a virtual spectacle on Saturday, December 2, as the rap God Eminem appeared in the headline artists’ sequence in the highly anticipated Big Bang event on the gaming platform. However, unlike many might have expected, his appearance was not an extended rap marathon, but rather a small cameo.
In Fortnite’s virtual world, Eminem appeared in an avatar form for four minutes. He sang the iconic hits ‘Lose Yourself‘ and ‘Godzilla‘, and also had a cameo by late Juice WRLD in the latter performance.

The 11-minute sequence also included a Lego world and a desert racing scene in the virtual world. This was an attempt by Epic Games, the creators of Fortnite, to tease subtly the upcoming additions. The creative team of Fortnite showcased its attention to detail by teasing the introduction of Lego integration, Rocket Racing, and a Fortnite Festival music feature in the sequence.
After Eminem’s death, this was a rare chance for his fans to see him, even if it was virtually. This is not the first time that Fortnite’s Big Bang event has hosted a star. Artists like Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, and Marshmello have marked their presence in the Fortnite metaverse.
