More and more celebrities are joining the ranks of WGA‘s fight for fair pay. George R. R. Martin has come forward to give his “unequivocal support” to the members of the WGA by hitting pause on his prequel series ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Night.‘
Martin reiterated his support and solidarity for the writers fighting for their rights in his blog post. He also provided updates about the upcoming season of ‘House Of Dragons,’ currently filming in London and Wales. He also discussed the second season of his AMC show ‘Dark Winds’ and other projects.

George R. R. Martin Resuming The Writers’ Room For ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel
Prolific fantasy writer George R. R. Martin has said in his blog post that the writing room for the ‘Game Of Thrones’ prequel series ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Night’ will resume for the “duration” of the ongoing writer’s strike in the United States. He begins the post by saying how no one wanted things to turn out this way, but the system gave me the guild no choice. He also informed that the production of the second season of ‘House Of Dragon’ is underway.
George R. R. Martin’s post read, “The Guild negotiated right up to the final deadline on May 1, but it takes two to tango. In the waning hours of May 1, the Writers Guild of America declared a strike. The action began on May 2. There are pickets in front of every studio lot and sound stage in LA, and many in other cities as well. Get used to them. I expect they will be there for a long time.

Celebrities Coming To The Forefront Of WGA Strike
Hollywood Glitterati is coming to the picket fence to help the WGA’s voice be heard. Drew Barrymore opted out of hosting the MTV Movie & TV Awards this year as a sign of solidarity with the WGA. Celebrities like Natasha Lyonne, Rob Lowe, Gillian Jacobs, and Ike Barinholtz have protested along with the writers as they continue their fight for fair compensation.
Due to the strike, many shows like ‘Stranger Things,’ ‘Hacks,’ and ‘Yellowjackets’ have halted production. However, there are shows still undergoing production. Many late-night television shows have decided to keep their writing and other stuff going. Today, American President Joe Biden also extended his support for WGA’s support.
