Gigi Hadid is involved in a legal problem now as she has been arrested in the Cayman Islands for having cannabis in possession. The arrest happened on July 10, 2023, at the Owen Roberts International Airport and her friend was also with her.
The model has had a few legal troubles in the past but this one seems to be the biggest one to date. The latest updates in the case reveal that she has been released and the arrest happened due to the strict rules in the Cayman Islands for cannabis usage and possession.

Gigi Hadid Had Cannabis In Possession And Was Arrested
According to reports, Gigi Hadid was with her friend, and the duo were arrested after they were found to be suspects in importing cannabis alongside utensils used to consume cannabis. This happened after cannabis and cannabis-consuming utensils were discovered inside their luggage.
Hadid and her friend were transported to the Royal Cayman Islands Detention Center and were released on bail. Sources disclosed that the quantity of cannabis they possessed was mainly for personal consumption.
Hadid and her friend were taken to court on July 12, 2023, and they plead guilty. However, they had to pay a fine of $1,000 and were not charged with anything.

Gigi Hadid Had Purchased The Cannabis Legally
The cannabis that Gigi Hadid had in possession was purchased by her in New York City and the purchase was legal. Her representative revealed that she had a medical license when she brought the cannabis.
The representative further stated: “It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”
Gigi is yet to comment on the arrest but it seems like she is more interested in the vacation right now as the same can be spotted on her Instagram posts.
