Anna Kendrick Talks About Her Past Relationship
Kendrick is known for playing both dramatic as well as comic roles in all kinds of films. She recently became an executive producer for the thriller film ‘Alice, Darling‘ in which she also plays the lead role.
In an interview with People magazine, the actress said that the film “resonated” with her as she “was coming out of a personal experience with emotional abuse and psychological abuse.”
Now, she has opened up more about the off-screen abuse the film shows while drawing parallels to her own past. “‘Well he never hit me, and I’m not really afraid that he’s going to hit me. How do I discern between normal conflict and abuse?“, she said.

Kendrick Said She Started Doubting Herself
‘Alice, Darling’ is playing in theaters in New York and Los Angeles. The film will receive a wider theatrical release on January 20, 2023. Kendrick further talked about the film and her relationship.
She said her abusive relationship made her doubt her own experiences. “He’s so convinced that I am a monster that I can’t see how I am not“, she said.
She said that she “related to Alice’s obsessive mind” and that not every abusive relationship is physical. Directed by Mary Nighy in her directorial debut, the film is written by Alanna Francis. It also stars Kaniehtiio Horn, Charlie Carrick, and Wunmi Mosaku.
