During the Screen Actors Guild ceremony, ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ dominated the night. The actors won big during the awards show. However, when Jamie Lee Curtis won the award, she kissed her co-star, Michelle Yeoh on the lips. This sweet moment well encapsulated the love and adoration that the two have for one another.
During the cover interview with People, Michelle Yeoh talked about friendship with Jamie and its inception. She said, “We fell in love on the first email. She was like, ‘Let’s ditch the directors of the movie, the Daniels, and run away!’ I was like, ‘A woman after my own heart.’ When you meet someone and have that connection, it’s not the length of time you’ve known them. A friendship became a very precious relationship.”
The two text one another first thing in the morning. About the messages, the ‘Shang-chi’ actress said, “She wakes up very early and I’m an early bird as well, so we end up texting each other. She’s rooting for me. Jamie Lee is one of the most generous in spirit that I have ever met. She’s always giving.”
The actress continued, “She’s always sending me something and texting ‘Did you get it, bae?’ She’s always sharing. And yet at the same time, she’s friggin’ Hollywood royalty — but she is nurturing.”

The Actress Created History During The Screen Actors Guild Awards
The Asians were brimming with pride during the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards. ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ swept most of the awards in almost every category. But, the two leads, Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan won big that night. Ke Huy Quan won the award in the Supporting Male Actor category. He became the first Asian Male actor to have won the SAG Award in the film category.
Michelle Yeoh became the star of the night winning the award for their outstanding performance in a leading role. The actress became the first Asian female actress to have won the award in an individual category.
In her speech, she said, “I think if I speak, my heart will explode. SAG-AFTRA, to get this from you, who understands what it is to get here. Every one of you knows the journey, the roller-coaster ride, the ups, and downs. But most importantly, we never give up. I thank you.”
She continued, “I thank you for your love, for your support, because I know I am up against titans. Thank you, thank you. This is not just for me, this is for every single girl that looks like me.”
