She was again nominated in 2001, for her role as the titular character in ‘Erin Brockovich‘. She plays the role of a single mother and legal assistant who helps expose a major environmental scandal. Julia Roberts’ most recent Oscar nomination was in 2014 for her role as Barbara Weston in ‘Osage County‘. She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for this movie in which she co-starred with Meryl Streep, who played her mother Violet, a drug-addicted and abusive matriarch.
