“I Hope That I Did An OK Job”: ‘Madame Web’ Star Dakota Johnson Shares Concerns About Marvel Movie

After gaining fame from her role in ‘Fifty Shades’, Dakota Johnson has created an impressive resume by being a part of various projects ranging from comedies like ‘How to Be Single’ and dramas like ‘The Lost Daughter’. Now the actress has picked up on a new genre based on Marvel comics featuring the character of the titular name.

Dakota Johnson plays Cassandra Webb who in Marvel comics spends most of her time hooked up to a web-like life support system, guiding other heroes with her psychic powers. However, the entire filming experience was unique and new for Johnson and gained her an extra skill to add to her resume.

In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, Dakota Johnson admitted that she was mesmerized by the completely new experience, as it was her first time filming a movie using blue screens. She said the experience was psychotic and is concerned that her performance might have not been up to the mark.

Johnson said, “That to me was absolutely psychotic. I was like, I don’t know if this is going to be good at all! I hope that I did an OK job!”

The Social Network actress also revealed that she has faith in  S. J. Clarkson saying, “But I trusted SJ Clarkson. She works so hard, and she has not taken her eyes off this movie since we started.”

The British director is no stranger to the superhero genre, as SJ Clarkson directed episodes of Netflix’s Marvel series Jessica Jones’ and ‘The Defenders’. The British director admits that she never considered herself a particular superhero fan until working on Jessica Jones, and she says she wanted to bring a similarly grounded, female-led vibe to Madame Web.

SJ Clarkson explained, “I loved the psychological, cerebral nature. Not to sound too wanky about it, but it’s about what’s going on in Cassandra Webb’s head and her grappling with that. Is she going insane? Is this real? She’s battling with that within herself and trying to understand it.”
