Though the couple was loved by the audience, the romance was short-lived as they proceeded to separate five months later. Chad Michael Murray Talks About His Marriage With Sophia Bush
In 2003, Chad Michael Murray and SophieaBush started dating after meeting on the set of the teen drama ‘One Tree Hill’ and immediately hit it off. They were married after two years, but they split up after only five months. The actor is now reflecting on his marriage, saying, “I was a baby.”
“I didn’t know up, down, left, right,” he said, speaking to The Cut “You move out there and you go, ‘Well, what am I supposed to do now? Get married? That’s exciting!'”
Though the actors have not exactly had a pleasant relationship after their marriage, they have still stayed pretty silent on the ugly parts of the marriage, occasionally speaking up about it in a few interviews.
In an interview with Michael Rosenbaum, Bush said “Oh, I’m not going to talk about him. I’m not allowed to because I’ve tried to poke fun at being a dumb kid and whenever I’ve done that, it gets twisted into I’m talking s— about somebody who I don’t even know anymore, who’s clearly a grown-up.”

Chad Murray And Sophia Bush’s Relationship
Before dating Sophia, Chad Murray was dating Erin Foster who claimed that the actor cheated on her with Bush, making the timeline of their relationship a messy one. “He definitely did cheat on me with her, in like, a pretty egregious way,” she claimed on an episode of her podcast, The World’s First Podcast.
Nevertheless, after they started dating and ended up tying the knot two years later, the marriage lived for shorter than the relationship as the couple separated after just two months in 2006. “This is a difficult and unfortunate situation,” Bush said in a statement. “I am glad this is being resolved sooner rather than later.”
An insider later told PEOPLE, “Sophia went into the marriage believing in the sanctity of marriage, and Chad simply did not share that vision.”
There were also rumors circulating that Murray had an affair with Paris Hilton while being with Bush. According to The Daily Mail, Nick Carter, who dated Hilton during Murray and Bush’s brief marriage, alleged that Hilton had cheated on him with Murray, a claim that was never verified by anybody directly involved.
Presently, Murray and his wife Sarah Roemer, who he married in 2013, have a daughter who is 9 months old, a son who is 9 years old, and a daughter who is 7 years old. As for Bush, following her June 2022 marriage to Grant Hughes, which ended in a divorce filing only 13 months later, she started dating Ashlyn Harris, a former soccer player.
