Dakota Johnson, daughter of famous, award-winning actors Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson is sick of the ‘Nepo Baby’ debate. A social media discourse focusing on the rise of famous celebrity children is a category she hates. The actress found the conversation “lame” and decided to respond in a more fun way.
In a recent interview on Today, the 34-year-old actress expressed her initial annoyance with the topic, deeming it “incredibly annoying and boring.” However, Johnson seized the opportunity to turn the tables when she hosted ‘Saturday Night Live‘. She said, “So the opportunity to make fun of it, I jumped at.” She joined a sketch where comedians poked fun at their famous lineage, making light of the debate Dakota once found tiresome.

Dakota Johnson Carved Her Own Path In Hollywood
Beyond the humor, Dakota Johnson has been candid about her journey to establish herself independently in Hollywood. The ‘Persuasion’ star revealed that she was financially cut off after high school for choosing an acting career over college. Johnson’s father, Don Johnson, presented her with a choice. She could either attend college and receive financial support or pursue acting and do it alone.
The actress recalled the moment like, “He cut me off. He said if you go to college, you still get an allowance. And I was like, ‘Well, I’m going to be an actress.’ So he was like, ‘Alright, well you’re on your own”
The ‘Madame Web’ star then started modeling to cover the necessary bills which sometimes wasn’t enough. She shared, “I definitely like had moments where I couldn’t afford groceries and things like that and needed to ask my mom to help me. She was the nice one.”
Despite these challenges, Johnson’s dedication paid off, landing her significant roles. With the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey‘ trilogy, marking her breakthrough in cinema history the actress now owns a production house.
