    Tom Holland starred in the recently released Apple TV drama ‘Ths Crowded Room.’ The series stars him as The series stars hin as Danny Sullivan, who is arrested in the summer of 1979 due to his involvement in a shooting at Rockefeller Center. The show is based on the real crimes of Billy Milligan, who was diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. Unfortunately, the show received negative reviews, primarily for its portrayal of DID.

    In a recent interview, the 37-year-old actor spoke candidly to The Hollywood Reporter about the show’s negative reception. He told the outlet, “It was a kick in the teeth. Rolling over, looking up the reviews, and then all of a sudden I was like, ‘Wow. That’s a bad review.’ Sometimes there’s a redeeming quality in there. There was nothing. There will be good ones. There will be. I try to have a healthy outlook on all that sort of stuff and respect everyone’s opinion.”

    Playing a character with mental health issues was a lot for Tom Holland. As a result, his character’s intensity lingered for a little too long. As a result, his mental health took a toll. The British actor, who was handling the pressure of his character and the producing duties on the show, told Entertainment Weekly about his decision to take a year off from acting. 

    Tom Holland got brutally honest about how ‘The Crowded Room’ pushed him to complete mental exhaustion, “I was seeing myself in [the character], but in my personal life. I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character.’ And, obviously, we were mid-shooting, so I decided not to… It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”
